This used Schecter Midway Guitar is in very good condition, with some scratches on the body.
From 2003 – 2008, Schecter ran a limited edition run on its aviation-themed collection of guitars. Of the three, the Midway looks the most subdued and sophisticated. The full-color graphics are a tribute to the US Navy, and are based on the tri-color camouflage typical to the WWII Grumman F6F Hellcats and Corsair fighter planes. It was featured in their 2005 catalog and remains very popular with those who have played them
The tempest style body is made from mahogany, while the maple neck features a beautiful rosewood fretboard. This darker wood makes an excellent contrast to the ivory “star and bars” inlay, looking like the insignia present on those US Navy fighter planes. In case the navy imagery wasn’t clear enough, the word “NAVY” is inlaid into the 12th fret of this used Schecter guitar.
All the chrome hardware has been given an aged look to fit in with the feel of the planes being from the 1930s and 40s, and it really makes this guitar quite beautiful to look at. But it’s not just a work of art, with its Duncan designed pickup and Grover tuners it’s also beautiful to play. This guitar sounds great when played clean, but turn up the distortion and it really shows what it can do. With its cool looks and roaring sounds, this guitar is perfect for those wanting to play metal and slash. It’s also a great statement piece and a conversation starter if you happen to be both a musician and a military enthusiast.
